MAINTENANCE AND CARE
MAINTENANCE AND CARE
Poolsafe Fences are relatively maintenance free, though by following a few simple steps your new Fence or Gate will look and operate like the day you purchased it for many years to come.
Steel Fences:
- Give the fence a wash down about once a month, keeping it clean from any dirt, raised soil, leaves or bird droppings that may eat into the paint.
- For areas near the ocean or salt water pools washing the fence should be done more frequently if possible.
- Do not leave wet towels or moist objects hanging over the fence for extended periods of time to avoid any corrosion issues.
Gates:
- Standard Butt Hinges should be oiled when required for ease of operation.
- Spring Hinges should be checked regularly for closing tension and adjusted when required. This is a good time to oil the hinges as well.
- Ball Bearing Hinges should be greased every six months.
Steel Fences:
- Give any aluminum a wash about once a month to keep it clean from dirt.
- Glass can be kept clean with any regular glass cleaner and a soft cloth.
- Stainless fittings are virtually maintenance free yet may require a light clean with a stainless polish from time to time to maintain the new look.
- Use caution when closing glass gates
